About NEPCO
NATIONAL ELECTRIC POWER CO-OPERATION (NEPCO) is a private limited liability company responsible for Power generation, Transmission and Distribution of electricity in Puntland State of Somalia and other parts of the country. The firm was established in 2009 with the specific understanding to meet the demands of the growing market in the field of Electrical Power Distribution in Somalia.
The company’s senior management team has vast experience in diverse areas of the energy market including development, engineering, finance, operations, asset management, energy trading and contracting.
NEPCO Main Power Station
NEPCO HQ and main power station is located in the trading city of Galkayo, which is situated in the north-central part of Somalia, and is one of the most developed towns in the region. The city is divided into four main districts, Garsoor, Horumar, Israac, and Wadajir.
The Puntland Administration controls Garsoor, Horumar, and Israac, while Galmudug controls Wadajir.

- Population - estimated at between 400,000 to 650,000 people.
- Economy - lively trading city and good transiting hub for varies regions of Somalia and Ethiopia.
- Livestock - largest market for livestock in the horn of Africa, a sector that provides food and income to over 60% of Somali Population.
